School Social Worker
Job Overview:
The School Social Worker will provide direct and indirect services to students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The role involves coordinating with families, teachers, and outside agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify students’ social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students.
- Act as a liaison between home, school, and community resources.
- Develop and implement interventions to improve students' social and emotional well-being.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings (IEP/504) to support students’ academic progress.
- Advocate for students and connect families with community resources.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW).
- Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
- Strong advocacy, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
