Student Photographer (Federal Work Study)

Position Title: Student Photographer

Work Location: Office of the Dean, Room 1004

Job Duration: The student worker position is 5-15 hours per week. Hours per week dependent on student’s federal work-study award. Work is event-specific, 2-5 hours per event plus 1-2 hours post-production time.

Job Description

The Student Photographer is responsible for providing marketing and event photography of social events and selected performances at the College of Fine Arts on a part time basis. Applicants must have flexible hours and be “on call” within specific time frame/dates agreed upon by photographer and to accommodate the College’s photography needs.

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Practice punctual attendance to assigned events.
  • Provide color corrected digital files to client within 3 working days of shoot.
  • Photos must be sharp, not too underexposed or overexposed, so that they may be utilized for print and web promotional materials.
  • Possess an attentiveness on email as this is the primary form of communication prior to the event. Respond in a timely manner to supervisor requests/questions.
  • Have a cooperative attitude and willingness to take direction and feedback.
  • Represent Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
  • Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record.
  • Dress appropriately for work in a casual, yet professional environment. Please note that some events might require a more specific dress code.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have experience with digital photography.
  • Bring personal equipment to be used to shoot events.
  • Have reliable transportation to arrive at events on time.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced knowledge of Photoshop or Light Room.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Regular availability on nights and weekends, when applicable.
  • Work creatively under the pressure of deadlines

Hours

  • 5-15 hours/week – flexible.

  • Hours are available Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
