WHUT is seeking a talented and driven Video Editor through the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in editing platforms, comfortable working in both creative and fast-paced environments, and able to craft visually compelling stories that reflect WHUT’s mission and brand.

As part of WHUT’s Digital Department, you’ll work on a variety of projects for our digital platforms — including YouTube, social media, and WHUT.org — helping us educate, entertain, and inspire the Metro D.C. community and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
• Edit video content for digital and broadcast use using platforms such as iMovie and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Perform color correction, audio mixing as needed, and assist with basic graphics and motion elements.
• Collaborate with producers, videographers, and digital team members to craft compelling visual stories.
• Organize and manage project files and media assets.
• Ensure content is properly formatted and optimized for various platforms.
• Assist with digital original series and WHUT campaigns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Must be a current Howard University student with a valid Federal Work-Study award.
• 1–3 years of experience (academic or professional) in video editing.
• Proficiency in iMovie and Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut
• Some understanding of color correction and audio mixing fundamentals.
• Basic experience in motion graphics and titling (Adobe After Effects or similar).
• Strong storytelling instincts, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• A team player with strong communication skills.

• Some familiarity with PBS content standards or public broadcasting formats.
• Passion for HBCU culture, public media, or community-focused storytelling.
