Nurse Candidate Scholarship

Nurse Candidate Program (NCP)  Scholarship & New Graduate Internship


  
The Navy Nurse Candidate Program (NCP) is a selective, fully funded scholarship that pays you to train as a future nurse while you finish your BSN. Acceptance in NCP Scholarship earns a $10,000 bonus. Then, you get $1,000 stipend per month while you finish school. After that, you will receive follow on paid training with the New Graduate Residency Program. 

Accepted students also complete a paid 8–12 week clinical internship at a major Navy medical center or aboard a hospital ship, after graduating.

New Graduate Residency Program 
- Rotate through adult/pediatric ICUs, trauma bays, and flight-deck aeromedical evacuations under Navy CCRN preceptors.  
- Master advanced skills: hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, ECMO basics, mass-casualty triage  
- Participate in live-tissue trauma labs and shipboard disaster drills 
- Shadow Navy Flight Nurses during MEDEVAC missions (San Diego & Jacksonville sites).  

 

 Eligibility  
- Full-time BSN student entering junior or senior year in Fall 2026.  
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (transcripts required).  
- U.S. citizen, age 18–30 at time of commissioning 32 U.S. Code § 313  
- Pass Navy Physical Readiness Test (PRT) and medical screening (we’ll guide you).  
- No prior military obligation required.  

 
Post-Internship Financial Package  
Summer Stipend $3,800–$4,600/month 
Housing Allowance (~$1,500–$2,200/month) 
Meals | Provided in galley or $400/month BAS | 
Loan Repayment Option - Up to $60,000 | Alternate to tuition aid |

All funds subject to 3-year active-duty obligation post-graduation.
