 Student Assistant IV

 

Skills Needed

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with staff members, participating families, and volunteers
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and follow a specific protocol, including performing data entry in Access and REDCap
  • Ability to use specialized behavioral coding software
  • Ability to commute to work in Sacramento at the MIND Institute on the UC Davis Health campus

 

Duties

  • Code behavioral data obtained during lab visits, using a coding system for early social communication behaviors
  • Maintain reliability standards in behavioral coding work
  • Assist with organizing and managing coding data
  • Enter data in an Access and REDCap databases and other administrative tasks as required
  • Use software and a behavioral coding system that requires specialized knowledge and expertise and may teach volunteer RAs how to use this software and coding system
  • As needed, assist with preparing charts for study visits
  • As needed, use audiovisual equipment that requires specialized knowledge and expertise on an as-needed basis, and may be involved in the training of other RAs in the use of this equipment
  • As needed, help with assessment visit set-up/clean-up adhering to UC Davis Health toy cleaning protocols
  • Participate in weekly lab meetings as course schedule allows
