Legal Administrative Assistant

Position Summary

PLAC seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Administrative Assistant Intern to support our team in database management, event coordination, and communications. This position is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in legal administration, association management, or event operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data & Membership Support – Update and maintain member database records (contact info, CLE/bar numbers, engagement tracking).

     
  • Event Coordination Assistance – Support planning and logistics for PLAC conferences and webinars, including registration tracking, speaker communications, and attendee outreach.

     
  • Communications Support – Help manage inbox inquiries, distribute CLE certificates, and prepare routine member communications.

     
  • Meeting Notes & Documentation – Attend internal meetings to capture detailed notes and follow-up actions.

     
  • Prospect & Member Research – Conduct light research to identify potential new members and re-engagement opportunities.

     
  • Administrative Tasks – Assist with document preparation, website updates, and other administrative needs as assigned.
     

 

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate in Legal Studies, Political Science, Communications, Business, or a related field.

     
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

     
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

     
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning association management or CRM tools (e.g., iMIS, Higher Logic).

     
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must have the ability to work between 15 and 20 hours a week remotely.
