Gallery Intern
Vika Gallery is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented intern to support gallery operations, exhibitions, and grant administration. This internship offers hands-on experience in contemporary gallery management within a nonprofit arts environment that centers emerging artists and community engagement.
Core Hours
Wednesday–Saturday, 12:00 PM–5:00 PM
(Some flexibility for special events, openings, or deadlines)
Key Responsibilities
Gallery & Exhibition Support
Create and update artwork labels for exhibitions
Greet and assist gallery visitors, artists, and partners
Support exhibition installations, openings, and public programs
Assist with artwork cataloging, inventory, and documentation
Maintain a welcoming, organized gallery space during open hours
Cataloging & Documentation
Help maintain artist files, exhibition records, and image archives
Assist with organizing digital and physical records related to artworks and shows
Grant & Administrative Support
Assist the Assistant Grant Manager with grant-related tasks, including:
Organizing grant materials and supporting documentation
Tracking deadlines and reporting requirements
Assisting with data collection, attendance tracking, and program metrics
Support general administrative tasks as needed
Ideal Candidate
Interest in contemporary art, nonprofit arts administration, or gallery operations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional setting
Basic computer skills (Google Workspace, Microsoft Word/Excel; familiarity with arts databases a plus)
Self-motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
