Financial Aid Professional I - Call Center Support

Summary of Job Duties:

The Financial Aid Professional I works under the general supervision of the call center supervisor and is responsible for assisting to counsel students and parents over the phone. This position will provide answers to callers by being familiar with federal, state, and university policies and regulations and by looking up student data in the integrated student information system. The Financial Aid Professional I will have the opportunity to visit orientation sessions on campus in order to present information concerning financial aid procedures and will work with their supervisor to assist in default management efforts. 

This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of an associate's degree

 

Preferred Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field

Experience working in a professional office setting on a college or university campus

Customer service experience in a professional office setting


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs

Knowledge of campus and community resources

Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs

A working knowledge of phone etiquette, word processing, email, spreadsheets, and database management programs

Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations

Ability to work as a team member

Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment with good interpersonal communication skills


Salary Information:

$39,930.00
