Technical Assistant – Power Plant Operations & Construction
Role Overview
Are you a recent Engineering graduate looking to get your boots on the ground in the energy sector? We are seeking a motivated Technical Assistant to support the construction, operation, and maintenance of a modern power plant facility. This is a "hands-on" engineering support role where you will bridge the gap between technical documentation and field execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Documentation: Manage and control project drawings (P&IDs, Electrical One-Lines) and technical documents related to plant construction and O&M.
- Technical Liaison: Collaborate directly with Technical Managers to support site-wide operations, including Power Plant Construction and Long-Term Maintenance programs.
- Field Support & Inspection: Attend site visits and field tours (specifically Lordstown, OH) to report daily progress and assist with field acceptance testing.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Assist in managing compliance for NERC, FERC, and the Ohio EPA.
- Market Operations: Support data tracking for Gas & Power Trading, including PJM market interactions.
- Meeting Coordination: Organize and minute technical meetings with Project contractors to ensure milestones are met.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (Required).
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings (Schematics, Blueprints).
- Field Interest: Strong interest in power plant design, system integration, and troubleshooting physical infrastructure.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and data organization.
- Professionalism: Excellent communication skills for engaging with agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
- Reliability: High attention to detail and a commitment to prompt work processing.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Internship or senior project experience related to power plants or heavy industrial utilities.
- Basic understanding of Information Technology systems (Network and Facility).
