Account Specialist – Insurance

Sumser Insurance is an independent agency helping individuals, families, and businesses protect what matters most through personal, commercial, and life insurance solutions.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a client-facing role. This position is designed as an entry point into a long-term career in insurance, with hands-on training and opportunities to grow into advisory or sales positions over time.

In this role, you will work directly with clients to review coverage, make policy updates, answer questions, and identify opportunities to better protect their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Review client policies and assist with coverage updates and changes
  • Answer client questions and provide guidance on coverage options
  • Identify opportunities to improve protection through additional policies or endorsements
  • Communicate with insurance carriers and internal team members
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client account information
  • Provide a high level of responsiveness and professionalism

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable speaking with clients and explaining concepts
  • Coachable and willing to learn
  • Property & Casualty (P&C) license preferred, or willingness to obtain (we will support licensing)
  • Prior customer service or sales experience is a plus, but not required
