PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Position is responsible for set-up and operation of CNC Machinery to produce machined parts.  Incumbent is also responsible for writing and reading programs and blueprints, maintaining and improving quality and safety standards and maintain equipment and supplies.

 

SPECIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.  Conduct all set-up and quality operations in support of machining.  Operate machines in accordance with set-up sheets and any other required paperwork. Create, edit and/or retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute.  Inspect and verify work.  Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work.  Understand machining tasks by studying work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Able to do offsets, compensations, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Perform non-CNC tasks, when necessary, which may include and not be limited to hand-work operations, inspections, polishing/stoning. Participate in continuous improvement by offering suggestions to changes in processes that may create a more efficient environment and culture.  Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

 

Associate degree, Lean Certification and tooling experience preferred. Mechanical ability and previous set-up experience preferred. Must have excellent attendance. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job - much sustained heavy lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, etc.
