Industrial Engineer
Huhtamaki is the global leading manufacturer of consumer goods packaging as well as tableware, cups, folding cartons, containers, trays and service ware for the foodservice industry and retail markets. Our Fulton plant is presently seeking an Industrial Engineer to support our continuous improvement strategy on our World Class Operations department.
Job Summary
Assist with or lead projects and initiatives to improve production processes, manufacturing efficiencies and product quality.
Essential Functions
Prepare new product cost estimates to assist with securing new business.
Prepare capital expenditure proposals (CEPs) to improve production processes and/or service to our customers.
Maintain current and create new Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routings for all production items.
Prepare and coordinate experimental work orders (EWOs) to test new materials and/or processes.
Prepare monthly production standards, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Machine Efficiency Indicators (MEIs) reports.
Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method Sheets, One Point Lessons and conduct training with personnel as needed.
Investigate process and machine efficiency trends to identify new opportunities for improvements.
Develop and lead World Class Operations (WCO) and continuous improvement projects to meet operational improvement objectives.
Conduct ergonomic studies, time studies and support Safety projects and initiatives.
Other duties may be assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required
B.S. in Industrial Engineering or related Engineering discipline
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft programs, especially Excel and Access
Working knowledge with creating queries and Visual Basic macros are desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Statistical process control, 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred
Environment
Employee will work in a manufacturing/office environment. Requires occasional sitting (40%), occasional standing (20%) and occasional walking (40%). Requires twisting, stooping/bending, squatting/kneeling, and reaching above, at or below shoulders. Requires lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 25 lbs. Required safety equipment in manufacturing production area: hair/beard net, safety glasses, ear plugs and steel toe or composite toe shoes
