Position Overview:
- The Graduate Assistant, Marketing & Communications will work directly with the Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications to develop and enhance marketing and communication efforts for the Department of Student Health & Well-being.
- Working closely with the student employee marketing staff, the Graduate Assistant will assist in a variety of marketing initiatives including print, digital, in-person, social media, and video creation.
- Ability to work summers and winter breaks is desired, as marketing materials are prepped for the upcoming semester.
- Evening and weekend hours required as needed.
- This is a high content creation position with elements of occasional outreach and engagement.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the student marketing staff.
- Adhere to all brand guidelines set by Towson University and Student Health & Well-being
- Assist, organize, and prepare with Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications for all staff trainings.
- Oversee, organize, assign, and follow-up on marketing requests and needs.
- Gather assessment data and analytics throughout semester to assist with strategy development and implementation
- Support the efforts of the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications in the management of the design and production process for all Campus Recreation marketing materials.
- Develop and execute creative ideas and concepts for comprehensive marketing campaigns.
- Assist in editing and managing designated SHAW web pages
- Meet regularly with Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a Graduate program at Towson University for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Canva experience is strongly needed
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience with social media platforms and video editing software
- Must be able to work some nights and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and successful admittance to a Towson University graduate program
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Graphic design preferred
- Highly organized
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage long and short-term projects
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work on several projects at a time
