AI Intern

Role Summary

ISS Group is looking for a college intern to help improve our web-based business process solutions with practical, secure AI capabilities. The intern will assist with existing software platforms while also helping explore how AI can support end users, streamline routine tasks, and improve decision-making while keeping the human in the loop.

This role is a good fit for a student interested in applied AI, web-based business software, workflow automation, human-in-the-loop systems, and secure use of AI in environments with validation and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Help design, prototype, test, and document AI-assisted features for web-based business workflow applications.

Explore ways AI can assist end users with navigation, summarization, form completion, document review, data validation, exception handling, and decision support.

Support development and testing of existing ISS Group software solutions.

Help ensure AI features are designed with human review, traceability, and clear user control.

Assist with evaluating AI security, privacy, prompt safety, data handling, and access-control considerations.

Help document requirements, test cases, validation steps, and user-facing behavior.

Work with technical and business users to understand real workflow problems and propose practical improvements.

Research emerging AI tools, APIs, and patterns that may be useful for business process automation.

Participate in controlled prototypes and help convert successful ideas into reliable product features.

Desired Qualifications

Current college student pursuing Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Interest in applied AI, web applications, business process improvement, workflow automation, or enterprise software.

Programming experience with at least one language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or similar.

Familiarity with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, related frameworks, APIs, JSON, databases, or scripting.

Interest in AI tools, large language models, prompt engineering, document processing, or automation.

Awareness of security, privacy, compliance, or validation concerns in software systems.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Clear written communication and good documentation habits.

Ability to work independently, learn existing systems, and ask thoughtful questions.
