Programs and Projects Fall Internship

The Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA), the oldest and largest national organization representing Italian American men and women, is seeking interns for the 2026 fall semester at its National Headquarters in Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, a team-player, and proficient in MS Suite. Excellent writing and verbal communications skills and interest in non-profit operations/membership-based organizations is a bonus. Experience in archival studies or library sciences is highly preferred.

This internship provides students with hands-on experience in nonprofit organizations, membership engagement, event planning, communications, and cultural affairs while working alongside professionals at a national organization. Interns will gain meaningful experience, develop valuable professional skills, and contribute to projects that support Italian and Italian American communities.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting staff with maintaining and updating a database of historical records, project files, shared drives, and organizational documentation
• Organizing, digitizing, and cataloging historical records, books, and organizational documents through inventory management, database updates, and archival tracking systems.
• Supporting staff in planning and preparing for national meetings, programs, and special events.
• Providing administrative support through correspondence, database maintenance, phone inquiries, document preparation, and other operational tasks as needed.
• Supporting organizational projects, including the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last two years. All areas of study are encouraged to apply. Italian language skills are a bonus.

Internship Session:

The program will run from September 8, 2026-November 25, 2026. Interns are expected to work 10-15 hours per week. Schedule is weekdays.

Compensation:

Interns will receive a stipend of $1200, paid in two sums over the course of the internship period.
