TORQ Coatings is one of the fastest-growing concrete coating companies in the Midwest. Our Fall Sales Internship provides motivated college students with hands-on experience in professional sales, customer engagement, and business development while working alongside an experienced sales team.
This internship is designed to provide real-world exposure to the sales process, professional coaching, and practical experience that can prepare students for future careers in sales, marketing, business, or leadership.
Position Summary
As a Fall Sales Intern, you will support the sales team by generating leads, engaging with prospective customers, participating in community outreach, and learning the complete sales process from initial customer contact through project completion. You'll receive ongoing coaching while developing communication, relationship-building, and professional business skills in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Customer Engagement
- Generate interest in TORQ Coatings through community outreach and lead generation activities.
- Engage professionally with prospective customers.
- Schedule qualified appointments for the sales team.
- Represent the TORQ brand at community events, home shows, and marketing initiatives as needed.
Sales Support
- Assist the sales team with customer follow-up and appointment coordination.
- Maintain accurate lead information within the company's CRM system.
- Observe and learn the complete sales process from consultation through project completion.
- Support sales representatives with administrative and operational tasks as assigned.
Professional Development
- Participate in weekly sales training and coaching sessions.
- Develop communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Learn consultative selling techniques and objection handling.
- Gain exposure to CRM systems, sales metrics, and performance tracking.
- Receive mentorship from experienced sales professionals and company leadership.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Self-motivated and dependable.
- Comfortable speaking with new people.
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or sales experience.
- Interest in pursuing a career in sales, business, marketing, or entrepreneurship.
Compensation
- $16–$20 per hour, based on experience.
- Additional commission opportunities based on qualified lead generation and performance.
