Retail Attendant

The Retail Attendant supports the afternoon and evening operations of the Vaquero Golf Shop. This position focuses on providing excellent member service, maintaining the appearance of the shop, assisting with merchandise sales, and helping ensure the shop is organized and ready for the following day.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests and provide friendly, professional service.
• Assist members with merchandise selections, sizing, and general product questions.
• Ring up golf shop purchases and member charges accurately.
• Answer the golf shop phone and assist with basic member questions.
• Keep the golf shop clean, organized, and presentable throughout the shift.
• Fold, straighten, and replenish merchandise as needed.
• Maintain organized apparel, footwear, accessories, and displays.
• Restock merchandise from back stock when items on the floor are running low.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, tagging, and putting away new merchandise.
• Help maintain organized stockrooms and storage areas.
• Check merchandise for missing or incorrect price tags.
• Assist with inventory counts and other inventory-related projects as needed.
• Help prepare merchandise and displays for tournaments, events, and seasonal promotions.
• Assist with special orders and notify the appropriate Golf Professional or Merchandise Manager when a member needs additional assistance.
• Keep fitting rooms and retail areas clean and organized.
• Monitor the shop during the afternoon and evening and make sure merchandise remains neat as members shop.
• Communicate member requests, merchandise needs, low-stock items, or issues to the Merchandise Manager.
• Assist the Golf Professional staff with basic Golf Shop needs during the shift.
• Complete end-of-day retail responsibilities, including straightening merchandise and preparing the shop for the following morning.
• Provide the high level of service and attention to detail expected at Vaquero.

• Strong customer-service skills.
• Comfortable interacting with members and guests.
• Organized with strong attention to detail.
• Retail or golf experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn the Golf Shop's point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise boxes as needed.
• Available consistently Tuesday through Sunday from 2:00 PM–7:00 PM.
