Communications & Program Support Assistant- School of Social Work (FWS Position))
Position Summary
The Undergraduate Federal Work Study Student Worker provides support to the HUSSW by assisting with administrative tasks, event planning, digital content creation, and research projects. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, organization, and staffing of school events.
- Design digital graphics for School events, programs, webinars, announcements, student activities, and other initiatives.
- Support the creation and scheduling of newsletter and online content promoting faculty, staff, student, alumni, and other school accomplishments.
- Perform general office duties, including filing, shredding, copying, and answering phone calls.
- Research scholarships and fellowships for MSW students and update scholarship documentation.
- Conduct online and library research for various projects.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms, SharePoint).
- Experience with digital content creation tools (Canva, Adobe, MailChimp, Eventbrite, Constant Contact).
- Familiarity with social media management and best practices (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok).
- Basic knowledge of graphic design and content creation.
- Knowledge of campus services and resources is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on tasks.
