Student Programs Assistant (FWS) to Dr. Streeter
In the role of Student Programs Assistant, you will work with the Financial Planning/Wealth Management co-curricular activities. Specifically, you will help with the coordination of efforts for the following three student programs:
- Schwab Scholars;
- Society of Financial Education and Professional Development (SFEPD) Ambassador initiative; and the
- Financial Planning Association (FPA) Student Club known as “HU Wealth Advisors”.
In addition, you will assist Dr. Streeter in the planning, preparations, and implementation of events that will include the opening of the new “Schwab Financial Planning/Wealth Management Community Learning Lab”, Financial Literacy Week, and workshops.
This coordination can include scheduling rooms, ordering meals for events, coordinating guest speakers, arranging travel, tracking goal attainment, and other duties as needed to ensure a successful year of co-curricular learning.
Qualifications:
· Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
· Currently enrolled at Howard University in a Business or related major.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive and proactive professional disposition.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Schedule:
- Availability to work up to 15 hours per week on Wednesdays (in-person), Thursdays (hybrid), and/or Fridays (hybrid) is preferred.
- In-person hours will occur between 10 am to 5 pm on Wednesday and when needed for events.
- Remote hours are flexible to produce a stated work product.
