Employee Communications Engagement (Intern)

Throughout GDIT’s 10-week summer internship program, you will work on innovative projects that touch areas such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Proposal Writing, Consulting, and other related areas depending on your background and interest. As an intern, you will have real responsibilities and work alongside experienced and innovative industry professionals.  Your internship experience will equip you with best in class skills to take back to the classroom.

As an Internal Communications and Employee Engagement Intern supporting Internal Communications, you will be trusted to support the development and implementation of communication campaign strategies across a variety of our internal channels. This position will play a key role within the business; alongside other HR leaders, you’ll be engaging employees and motivating them to stay connected and dedicated to the mission.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Learning and using collaboration tools and applications to support our employee intranet
  • Creating pages, moderating comments, developing and executing employee engagement campaigns
  • Supporting our enterprise podcast strategy—including identifying best practices, developing a content calendar, drafting scripts, recording, editing and promoting
  • Potentially supporting an engagement project for all interns across internal and external channels

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited high school, college or university within the United States
  • Must have at least 1 semester of college or university study remaining after internship ends in August
  • Pursuing degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or similar discipline
  • Highly effective communicator, both written and verbally
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in a positive manner
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Must be a creative and strategic thinker
  • Experience with creating and designing web-based content on SharePoint (optional)
