COAS Academic Innovation & Student Success- Student Worker (FWS)
The COAS Office of Innovation & Student Success Student Worker (FWS) plays a vital role in supporting various functions within the Office of the Dean in COAS. This position offers an opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the smooth operation of the office. The student worker will assist with a variety of tasks and projects, providing support to both students, faculty, leadership, and staff members.
- Administrative Support: Assist in general administrative tasks such as data entry, photocopying, scanning, filing, and maintaining office supplies.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and informative assistance to students, staff, and visitors by answering inquiries, directing them to appropriate resources, and offering a positive and helpful demeanor.
- Event Coordination: Help organize and coordinate COAS events like graduation, workshops, seminars, and meetings by assisting with logistics, preparation of materials, setup, and cleanup.
- Communication: Assist in maintaining effective communication channels within the department, which may include distributing announcements, posting information on bulletin boards, and managing email lists.
- Technical Support: Assist with basic technical tasks, such as troubleshooting equipment, setting up audiovisual equipment for presentations, and helping users with software-related issues.
- Data Management: Assist in maintaining and updating databases, spreadsheets, and records related to department activities, student information, or other relevant data.
- Social Media Campus Outreach: Collaborate with other student workers and campus organizations to promote department events and initiatives.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student at HU
- FWS
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and reliable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous customer service or administrative experience is a plus.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible schedule to accommodate class commitments and departmental needs.
- Morning & afternoon availability
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required for events or special projects.
