Part-Time Research Assistant
FWS: Research Assistant, Institutional Research and Assessment
Institutional Research and Assessment in the Office of the Provost is seeking a student employee (work study/graduate assistant) to support the team with analytical functions in the office. The Research Assistant will assist with analyzing and documenting information needs and use cases, recommending reporting solutions, developing data models, and producing dashboards and reports. Using business intelligence (BI) tools, the Research Analyst will extract various data from multiple systems. The assistant may receive work assignments from both the IR and Assessment teams. This is a remote, paid, part-time federal work study opportunity.
Students with the following experience and/or majors are encouraged to apply:
- Mathematics, Applied Data Science, Management or Computer Information Systems, Communication, Journalism, Engineering, Fine Arts or related disciplines.
- Coursework or experience creating, manipulating, and extracting information from large data sets.
- Understanding of database concepts. Coursework or experience with data warehouses and transactional databases and related technologies, e.g., SQL, R, SPSS, PRISM, Excel.
- Coursework or experience with BI Technologies, e.g., Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work independently as well as cooperatively.
