Student Office Assistant

Student Office Assistant: Office of the Campus Life – (FWS)

 

Unit: Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs

 

Supervisor/Reports to: Administrative Unit Dean, Director or designee

Work Hours: 10 – 20 hours per week

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. To serve as a “frontline” agent of the office, to greet and provide professional and attentive customer service to students, peers, or guest customers

2. To identify needs, redirect to the appropriate staff member and/or to assist in response to resolve issue or conflict.

3. To work on special projects, programs and to assist in the completion of event/program summaries and activity reports, presentations and evaluations.

4. To assist office staff identify and address issues through to resolution.

5. To execute data entry and basic database maintenance.

6. To maintain a high level of confidentiality and to reflect behavior and disposition necessary to ensure quality and respectful engagement and service.

7. To demonstrate a willingness to work with students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and provide customer service where the customer leaves the office feeling understood, valued, respected and assisted.

8. To demonstrate the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks, and activities within a designated timeframe and within given resources.

9. To engage and direct student, parent, and university stakeholders upon entering the office and evaluate needs to ensure the most efficient path and/or administrator to address concerns.

10. To maintain professional decorum and cleanliness for the front desk, copy room, conference room and waiting lounge and other office spaces. Including restocking supplies and removal of outdated materials/items.

11. To demonstrate an ability to effectively provide office coverage as requested and complete office tasks/assignments with a commitment to quality and timely production.

12. To complete administrative, and clerical tasks as assigned by administrative/staff officers.

13. To demonstrate a positive and proactive professional disposition in appropriate dress and office decorum required for an Executive Office.
