Health, Safety, and Environmental Co-op
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) CO-OP (Fall 2025)
Co-op opportunity for Safety or Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or Environmental and Sustainability majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. A co-op in this position will work in the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) department.
Job Responsibilities:
• Participate in the development and implementation of beneficial programs/projects aimed at improving employee safety, equipment, ergonomics, emergency response systems, and environmental/ sustainability programs.
• Participate on new equipment launch teams to complete requirements for HSE, including job hazard analysis, personal protective equipment assessments, machine guarding assessments, waste evaluations, and HSE regulatory permitting.
• Investigate and contribute to the resolution of employee occupational safety injuries, environmental incidents, and property loss events.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on operational safety and environmental/ sustainability metrics.
• Assist with HSE process improvement projects.
• Contribute and participate in ISO14001 implementation and auditing teams.
• Contribute and participate in corporate HSE regulatory compliance audits to ensure OSHA and EPA requirements are being met.
• Develop safety and environmental awareness training, communication material, and employee engagement events to promote HSE initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison with plant HSE, engineering personnel, and other functional disciplines with potential for travel as required.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
•Currently attending an accredited college or university
•3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
•Exceptional analytical skills
• Ability to establish trust and credibility
• Knowledge of statistical tools preferred
•Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to travel domestically (US) and possibly internationally (Mexico, Canada)
•Proficient in Microsoft® Office Tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
